Grafton Lodge: Entertainment and Activities

We offer a wide variety of entertainment options.
We offer our residents many opportunities to fill their leisure time in ways that are enjoyable and stimulating.
Varied activities
With a programme of organised activities taking place within the home and also in the local area, we can fulfil the requirements of even our most active residents.
Lesley Boyson, our Entertainments Manager, arranges an ever changing schedule of enjoyable activities.
No one is ever pressured to take part in any activity, however, as we know that some residents prefer to take things quietly.
Celebrations and Parties
We never miss the opportunity to organise a celebration or an event: a Summer Barbecue; Pancake Day; a resident's birthday; Bingo sessions; Easter, Christmas and New Year; Keep Fit sessions (very gentle!); and discussions about current events.
Sometimes we bring in professional entertainers to organise a sing-a-long, and members of the Boyson family are often in the thick of it!
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing our elderly residents enjoying themselves, and we do everything we can to make this happen.
Relax in the garden
During the warmer months, residents enjoy our large, secluded garden. It's a peaceful, attractive environment with benches and chairs always available.
TV, videos and music
Grafton Lodge is well equipped with several television sets plus a full complement of radios, DVD players, video players, cassette players and even a record player so that residents can watch or listen to the entertainment of their choice.
Each resident's room is equipped with a TV aerial socket so residents can bring their own TV if required.
Newspapers and Books
We stock a range of newspapers and magazines in the communal rooms. Residents can also place orders for other newspapers and magazines at their own expense.
For avid book readers, we have a regularly updated selection of large-print books supplied by the local library.
Photo Gallery
There's always something to look forward to for those who enjoy planned activities. However, we never pressure residents to join in if they don't want to.

Residents enjoyed a performance by 'Elvis', live at Grafton Lodge. It was a great success, and afterwards they had their photos taken with the 'King' himself!
