Life at Grafton Lodge
Days with something to look forward to
Activities, home cooking and good company, planned with the people who live here, not just for them.

Activities
Planned with residents, around what they enjoy.
Baking and cookery
Residents told us they still love to cook, bake and decorate cakes, so baking is a regular part of the week.
Gentle exercise and brain games
Armchair exercise set to music, and brain-training games, often followed by a cup of tea and a chat.
Arts and crafts
Cards, decorations and paintings, many of them on display around the lounge, the dining room and residents' rooms.
Music
There's usually music playing somewhere, from karaoke with the staff to singers and musicians at our parties.
Parties and celebrations
Birthdays, a summer party and a Christmas party with games, singing and good food, with families invited.
Games, quizzes and films
Quizzes, jigsaws, reading, chats about the news and old times, and film nights.

Meals
Home cooking, and a proper sit-down
Mealtimes are a highlight of the day: good food, and a chance to chat with friends. Our cooks prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner fresh in the home, and take each resident's likes and dislikes into account.
Meals are served in our dining room on the ground floor, or in residents' rooms if they prefer. Special diets are catered for, whether for health, medical or religious reasons. The menu changes regularly, and if a resident fancies something that isn't on it, we'll do our best.
Our kitchen holds the top food hygiene rating, 5 (Very good), from its last inspection in November 2025.
“The rooms are warm, cosy and welcoming and the food is tasty.”

Come and look round
The best way to choose a care home is to see it.
Give us a ring and we'll arrange a time for you to come and look round, or email us and we'll get back to you.
